Done during history lesson... Fortunately our history teacher is a really cool old man and he doesn't mind if I draw during his lessons as long as I am quiet Not quite happy about this image, though. I think it turned out too dark, but what do you think?
I like the technique you used, the pencils really have made the drawing look nicer. Some things I'd like to dwell on is the facial structure and anatomy, the hair, also some of the coloring. I have no problem with the eyes except that the eyebrows look a bit toot hin. Maybe add some eyebrow hair to make it look more natural? The ear should probably be a tad bit lower, you can reference on your own face to find out the ultimate position of the ear. Now the nostrils seem to be set too close to each other and there is no definition on the nose bridge etc. The jaw looks a bit misplaced, perhaps see some references of chin and jaw placement? The hair seems a bit too spiky. It doesn't really blend with the face. The coloring on the other hand, I think the dark shading is a bit too dark and doesn't blend with the light shading. Hope this helps.
I don't think it's too dark And I really like the perspective! It works, or to me it does, and I sort of envy you for being able to pull off such an awkward angle... I really need to practice them off-angles and not always stick with the cozy 3/4 view.
you know I hope the lesson wasn't on Vlad the impaler [link] (he took mass murder to new heights I think, but oddly enough is also considered as having a progressive law and order scheme.. anyway dear dont read the link he'll give you nightmares)
by dark do you mean in colour or in art look cause Vlad was very dark indeed .. said to be the root of our Dracula..
Actually you may be a bit surprised what you picked up in history while doing this dear..your mind would have been a tad more receptive, in an abstract way
on if its too dark...well shading wise perhaps dear still it does convey, the art, a dark scary look so the Art is great (for dark art )
